When Rick was diagnosed with cancer in 2016, he thought that was the worst thing that could have happened to him, until he found out that very young children had a more significant battle than him. So, he made it his mission to bring joy to these little warriors while they fight for their lives daily.

When Friends of Rick Daniels was established in 2018, it was to raise money to send cancer kids an autograph copy of one of his books, and their very own Saby the magical lion cub stuffed animal.

To date he has sent his gifts to children as far away as The UK, Australia, and the Philippines.
